Don't know what it is with me and these damaged Edwards!
First, I fell in love with americnxidiot's Cascade and Cyanide. Then it was the Boy in the Red Sweater by starrynytex. For someone who usually doesn't seek out the angst, I am finding myself drawn to it a bit.
I'm enjoying reading Failure to Thrive. I feel a bit weird and voyeuristic because the Edward is dealing with regular-man overactive peen issues. It's like I'm reading a diary written by someone who is documenting their process as a couple as they work through their bedroom inadequacies. But it is definitely an enjoyable read. Their love story is really cute and, as always, Edward is a dreamy romantic boyfriend. Aside from his inability to engage in normal sexytimes.
I think, all-in-all, there really isn't any truly dark angst in this story. I am curious to try dabble in some angst but my emotionally wimpy ass is a bit scared to put myself at the mercy of someone else's creative whims. If I do 'invest' in a straight up admittedly angsty story, it will probably be Wide Awake. Everyone talks about how incredible and formative it was for them to read it. I mean a gajillion recs can't all be wrong. So, of anything out there, it seems the most tested. With the most satisfied customers. Now I just have to work up the nerve to read it. Do it! Do it! Do it!
