The Fallout by OCDindeed

The Fallout
Official DescriptionMarch 16, 2006, the world the Cullen’s knew...ended. What if Edward never made it back in time, and failed to protect the one human that only mattered to him? Nuclear War? The Cullens? Nope...not a crackfic. Dark & Angsty. NM-AU   WIP

I am so in love with this fic. I gots lots to say about it and will update this post. Just a placeholder for now. Author is finishing writing the rest of the story and then will post it.

In the meantime, my review of the Prologue gives a sense of why I find this fic so appealing :)

Chapter 1 (Prologue)
I just started this story, reading it offline while on vacation. I'm flipping out - this story is so up my alley.

One of my favorite things to ask people that I meet or at parties: What skills would you bring with you in a postapocalyptic world? For example, my friend Claire took archery at summer camp when she was younger and was a pretty decent shot. My other friends regularly go hiking and camping. These are the people I want on my team when it all goes down. :)

I'm fairly useless in the postapocalyptic world. I wear contacts/glasses, rely on meds I need daily to survive, and I have food allergies. For sure, I would be the weakest link and the first to go. Besides, there's not much use for someone who designs educational technology when you're in survival mode.

Sufficed to say, I am fascinated with this world you have created.

I just powerhoused thru chapter after chapter offline without access to the review mechanism. I'll do my best to come back and show the love.

"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought,
but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
Albert Einstein

I'm a big fan of that Albert Einstein quote and using it in your prologue immediately establishes the weight of your story. Although the vampires themselves are clearly supernatural, the world in which the vampires are trying to survive - not that far out of the realm of possibility. An interesting dichotomy.

Anyway, this is an amazingly written story and I'm sure I'll be back to continue my gushing on other chapter reviews!
Lots of love, Althea
